Method of Use
Take this medicine directly as prescribed by your doctor. If you have stomach upset, take the drug with a meal. Lasix should be taken carefully if you also use colestipol, cholestyramine or sucralfate. Contact your doctor for more details and dose adjustment.
In the beginning of treatment course you may notice you urinate more often. In order to have normal sleep at night try to take Lasix before 6pm.
Lasix Missed Dose
Try not to break your normal dosing schedule, however, if you do, take Lasix as soon as you remember. If it?s almost time for next dose, skip the missed one and go back to your normal schedule. Taking two doses is prohibited.

Blurred vision and dizziness are among most frequent side effects of Lasix. They can worsen in case you take this drug with alcohol or other medicines. It?s important to be cautions and not perform unsafe actions like driving or operating machinery until you're not sure of the drug's action on you.
Do not adjust drug dose by yourself without consulting your doctor. Do not share the drug with others. If you feel worse after taking this drug, contact your health care specialist.
Lasix Storage
The drug should be stored at room temperature or 68-77F. For a short time storage in temperature range of 59-89F (15-30 ?C) is allowed. Bathroom storage is prohibited. Keep container with medicine away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Make sure it won?t be found by children or pets.
Warnings and Precautions
Patients who have or have had the following health conditions should contact doctor or other health care specialist prior to taking Lasix: diabetes, liver disease, low urine output, lupus, kidney problems, fluid in abdomen (also known as ascites), gout, too high or too low electrolyte level, porphyria (blood disease), high blood uric acid level, heart attack or hearing problems.
Do not take this drug if you?re allergic to it or any of its ingredients. Pregnant should contact doctor before starting Lasix treatment and discuss all possible risks for fetus. The drug is found in breast milk. Do not breastfeed until you check with your doctor.
Diabetic patients: Lasix may affect your blood sugar level. Check your blood sugar more often to monitor it. You may need special Lasix dose or you doctor may advise to change your regular diabetes medicine dose.
Drug interactions can arise during Lasix treatment. Thus it?s important to provide your doctor with all information concerning drugs you use. This concerns over-the-counter and diet supplements as well. Patients with high blood pressure should avoid nonprescription stimulants like diet pills or cold medicines.
If you're going to receive any surgery, emergency or dental care, provide personnel with information concerning your Lasix use.
This drug is referred to diuretics group. This means large doses of Lasix may cause serious mineral and water loss. Keep all doctor appointments and notify him/her in case you have dry mouth, weakness or muscle cramps.
This drug makes you more sensitive to sun. Sunlamps, sunbaths and tanning booths are not permitted while you're on Lasix. If you plan to stay outside for a long time, wear protective clothes.
Elderly people and children are more sensitive to this drug and are more likely to develop side effects. In most cases they require adjusted dosage of Lasix.
